Events

I am still not sure if I am comfortable with visiting an on site event this year. But nevertheless, interesting events are gaining traction again.

Interesting are the DevOps Days Zurich (30.05.-01.06.)

Or alternatively in Amsterdam (22.06.-24.06)

Dream location for me would be the ArgoCon taking place in San Francisco this September

Tools

  • KubeVirt is an open source project that allows Virtual Machines to be run and managed like pods inside a Kubernetes cluster and has now been promoted as a CNCF Incubator.
  • Kubernetes 1.24 is coming and with this version comes a new set of deprecations and removals. Notable mention here is the removal of Dockershim
  • FSA-Flux Subsystem for Argo: “FSA’s container image can be used as a drop-in replacement for the equivalent ArgoCD version.” This sounds very interesting, I have to try that one out.
  • Dependency Track: Track your complete software “Bill of Materials” and software supply chain. Looks quite powerful

News and Articles

  • It was not a good week for Java Security:

  • AWS log4j hotpatch had some major security issues itself:
  • Keeping your Prometheus setup clean and optimized can be hard. This article walks you through how to identify, drop, and delete unneeded metrics:
